Every Christian is called to serve God and his people. Some are called above the natural vocation of marriage to the supernatural vocation of celibacy "for the sake of the kingdom" (Mt 19:12). By radically conforming their life to the example of Christ's own life on earth, priests and religious are unique witnesses in the world. Religious live the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience as Christ himself did, in complete dedication to prayer and good works. Priests are ordained to unite Christ with his people through sacramental and evangelical ministry.
Every Christian should properly discern their vocation. To receive help on this spiritual journey, contact Father Jason or visit the Fort Worth Diocese's vocation website for more information.
